Livingston, CA (January 27, 2015) – As the Supercross series pushed on to round 4 in Oakland, the 51FIFTY Energy Drink Yamaha Team welcomed Jake Canada aboard. Alongside Austin Politelli, the crew was optimistic for the seasons best results. With 2 bikes in the field, the 51FIFTY team had a strong presence on and off the track, and looked to log solid finishes.

Practice seemed promising, with both riders setting times in the top 20. Just a few clicks off the leaders times’, the 51FIFTY boys looked to carry that momentum into the night show.

In Heat one, the #981 of Austin Politelli got a midpack start but tangling with a group of other riders left him piled up on the ground. Austin remounted and put on a tough charge, but was unable to finish in a qualifying spot and would be forced to race the LCQ.

During Heat two, Jake Canada was laying down consistent laps aboard the #60 machine. A midpack start would leave him no choice but to come from behind in hopes of transferring directly to the main. Despite his efforts, Jake came up one spot short of a transfer position and was forced to ride the LCQ alongside his teammate.

Both of the 51FIFTY Energy Drink Riders were able to rocket out of the gate during the LCQ and get up to the front early. With some aggressive bar banging Politelli was able to move his way through the field, while a scary huck-a-buck upset Canada’s rhythm early on. After regrouping, Canada kept the pressure on, but would come up just two spots short. Politelli however, would finish in third and move on to the main.

During the main event, Politelli started just outside the top 10. A couple smart passes moved him up through the field, but the technical Oakland track proved to be challenging. A slight mishap in one of the rhythm sections left AP981 on the ground. After getting back on his bike, he settled into a good pace and finished off the night in 17th.
